[SUBSCRIBER-ONLY] The NCAA’s transgender policy was challenged by three women’s sports icons over the weekend as Penn swimmer Lia Thomas set a new national record. Olympic swimming champion Nancy Hogshead-Makar sparked the debate by saying that the NCAA regulations permitting Thomas to compete for the Ivy League women’s swimming team were “unfair.” Tennis greats Martina Navratilova and Chris Evert got into the fray.
