One of the lone conservative voices on CNN used his position on the network to utterly torch Joe Biden and his “disastrous” first year in office.

During a panel discussion on Anderson Cooper’s program, Scott Jennings unleashed a brutal takedown of Biden’s policies while several CNN liberal panelists sat there in astonished silence.

“I never imagined how quickly this would all unfold,” Jennings began.

“The person they sold on the campaign,” he continued. ” The nice old moderate Grandpa who just wanted to help everybody get along and compromise are not what we got over the past year.”

“He has no mandate, really, to do much of anything,” he went on. “It’s amazing that he got a couple of things done when the mandate was pretty clear: 50/50 Senate and near 50/50 House, and a pretty close presidential election.”

“The mandate was simply ‘replace Donald Trump and don’t do anything drastic or stupid,” Jennings said. “And yet everything about this agenda is extremely drastic. And he’s been angrier than I think people expected, he’s been more divisive, he’s been more partisan.”

“You look at the issues. We built five years of coverage on Trump out of Russia, COVID, and democracy,” he added. “The president, in his press conference, invites Russia to invade Ukraine. We have more [COVID] deaths under Biden than Trump. And now we have the president and the vice president question the legitimacy of the 2022 election? Are we any better off on these issues that we crucified Trump over?”

“I think he has a lot of political problems,” he said. “And an AP poll came out this morning, only 28 percent of Americans want the sitting president to run for re-election. And fewer than half of Democrats.”

“This is a disaster,” he concluded.

To Jennings point, a new poll found that 50 percent of voters surveyed said they would back someone other than Joe Biden for president if the election were held today.

Asked if the election were held today, 60 percent said they would “probably” or “definitely” vote for someone else, compared to 36 percent who said they would “definitely” or “probably” re-elect Biden.

Fifty-two percent said they would vote for someone other than Trump if it were February 2020, and 51 percent said they would select somebody other than Obama if it were August 2011.

The survey also shows the deep dissatisfaction Americans feel for Biden’s handling of the economy, the COVID-19 pandemic, border security, and foreign policy.

The president’s job disapproval rating is at 52 percent, a slight rise from last month, but a 9 percentage point increase from April, while his approval rating is trending in the opposite direction — from a high of 56 percent in June to 47 percent in this poll.

On how he has handled the economy, 58 percent disapprove versus 41 percent who approved. His handling of the COVID-19 pandemic had similar results with 52 percent disapproving whereas 46 approved.

Border security may have been his worst with a whopping 59 percent disapproving of his handling of the issue versus a mere 37 percent who approved. And on foreign policy, 54 percent disapproved compared to 41 who approved.

“Buyer’s remorse for President Trump is as strong as ever. President Trump dominates the potential GOP primary field,” Pollster John McLaughlin said.
