This young couple chose to pause for a minute before tying the knot — but the pause was brief.

Trey Bell, 20, and Clara Bell, 18, of TikTok recently went viral after allegedly marrying in October – after just two weeks of dating. The newlyweds, on the other hand, believe that allowing their relationship a month to simmer was sufficient time to determine if they were making the correct decision.

“We spent every day together during that time and got married on the same day that Trey proposed the idea — we eloped,” said the teenage Louisville, Kentucky, native of their short phase as an unmarried couple, according to Kennedy News and Media. “When Trey first proposed the idea of getting married, I was pretty on board. I was like ‘That’s crazy,’ but we did it.”

People in Panama City, Florida, didn’t know that they were getting married for $200. They are said to have bought rings for less than $5 and hired a minister and a photographer through a company that had same-day officiants. They had a wedding that was so last-minute that even their families couldn’t make it.

Clara said that her family was surprised. “It was shocking in a shocking way, like, “What?!?”” You did what?

Clara’s family is said to have not even known that she was dating Trey. Not only did I have to say I was married, but I also had to show them my husband because they didn’t know him.

Clara told Kennedy News that since then, the families are said to have given their blessings.

“They’re all right now.” In the past, Trey has met my parents and I have met his parents as well. At the time, they were just shocked and confused. They are now very happy for us.” The way they were shocked wasn’t bad, though.

After meeting on Snapchat, the bride and groom briefly dated in 2018. They had known each other for a few years before that.

“We’d dated for a little while when I was 15 and Trey was 17. He reached out to me on Snapchat, asking me to go kayaking. I went kayaking and then we dated for that summer,” Clara explained. “When we went to different schools, we separated. He went off to college in Kentucky, and I went to a prep school in Georgia to finish high school there.”

They didn’t communicate throughout that period but reunited in September over Snapchat. The rest is recent history, and the pair apparently now lives together and maintains that their quick romance is succeeding.

“It simply seemed right to do it, even if it sounded ridiculous, since I wanted it to succeed this time,” Clara said, adding that all relationship has its challenges.

“I’d argue that we’re still in the honeymoon period. Marriage is certainly challenging, but not insurmountable.

Unsurprisingly, social media seems to be split on the marriage. According to Kennedy News, one TikTok member allegedly wrote, “Just wait till they divorce since they barely dated for two weeks,” while another expressed support, adding, “Beautiful pair, disregard the criticism, they’re envious.”

“I wouldn’t advocate it to everyone, but it seemed perfect for us,” Clara told Kennedy News.
